Welcome to 2017!
We are only two days into the new year, and the Sean Anderson Foundation is already looking towards the projects that will be coming to fruition in the months ahead; for that reason, we couldn’t be more thrilled to share that both Sean “Big Sean” Anderson and Myra Anderson (Sean Anderson Foundation) have accepted an invitation to join the Motown Museum National Legacy Council!
Located at the house where Barry Gordy launched his iconic record label in 1959, the Motown Museum is planning a major $50 million expansion around the existing museum and it’s ”Hitsville U.S.A.” signage, designing and creating space for interactive exhibits, a performance theater and additional recording studios.
The announcement of the expansion came in October of 2016, and along with Big Sean and Myra Anderson, as of December 2016, members of the NLC include Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, former mayor of Detroit Dave Bing, Reverend Jesse Jackson and Judge Greg Mathis.
After the expansion project has completed, the Motown Museum will be a 50,000 square-foot attraction.
